Code of Conduct
Last updated 20 October 2026
DroidTribe meetups are for everyone who builds on Android, whatever their experience, role or background. This code sets out how we treat each other at our meetups, in our WhatsApp groups and anywhere else we meet as DroidTribe.
How we behave
Be kind and professional. Listen before you reply. Credit other people's work. Give feedback on the work, not the person. Assume everyone here is trying to learn.
What we do not accept
Harassment, discrimination and intimidation of any kind. That includes insults and slurs, unwelcome sexual attention or remarks, following someone, inappropriate physical contact, sharing someone's private information, and photographing or recording a person after they have asked you not to.
We also do not accept disrupting talks, or selling or recruiting to attendees without the organisers' agreement.
Speakers, sponsors and hosts
Speakers, sponsors and the companies that host us follow this code too. Talks, slides and demos should suit a mixed professional audience.
Photos and recordings
We photograph meetups and record talks. If you would rather not appear, tell an organiser at the event and we will respect that.
Reporting a problem
If you experience or see something that breaks this code, tell any organiser or city lead at the event, or email droidtribecommunity@gmail.com. Reports go to the core team, who keep them confidential and share details only with the people who need them to act. If your report is about a core team member, say so in your email and the other co-founder will handle it.
What happens next
We look into every report and speak to the people involved. Depending on what happened, we may give a warning, ask someone to leave a meetup, remove them from our groups, or stop them from attending future meetups. If anyone is in danger, we will involve venue security or the police.
Where this applies
This code covers our meetups, our WhatsApp groups, our social media and any other space we run as DroidTribe. At a venue, the venue's own rules apply as well.
Changes
We may update this code. The date at the top of this page shows the latest version.
